MUSTERING IN HEAVEN
MUSTERING IN HEAVEN
In the heavens up above I can see Orion ride
with the Southern Cross emblazoned right across his belt of hide
and the North star shining brightly as a sure and steady guide.
It seems they might be mustering in heaven.
It appears to me while standing gazing at celestial lights -
that they're like a flock of lambs and ewes all garbed in softest white
and they graze slowly across the sky just like a new lamb might.
Yes it seems to me they're mustering in heaven.
When my time on this earth is done and I am heading home
to the flock up there above me, I know I won’t be alone
in the million acre paddock where my friends and I can roam.
I wonder if I'll pass muster in heaven?
So if perchance you're in your paddock gazing up that way,
and you see a small star twinkling, seeming to want to play,
streaking across the heavens and then scampering away.
Well chances are good they're mustering in heaven.
And if it just crosses your mind that up there in the sky
you're sure you caught a glimpse of that night rider passing by,
well you could be right for maybe it was just the dogs and I -
'cause we're busy Mate – were mustering in Heaven.

Lovely Maureen, lovely. I love it. I reckon you must count sheep in your sleep. It's a peaceful, good feeling poem.

Leonardo da Vinci wrote that he used to gaze at the clouds and see faces and figures emerging.

'Mustering in heaven'. Make that another who loves it Maureen. I know that I said this earlier, but you are a treasure chest of ideas. I'm still waiting for that bottle.
