No flak meant in that comment. I thought it was a moment to consider the slightly different intent that works on song lyrics and poetry. Just something to think about, broaden our horizons. ;) Apologies to Manfred for getting off the track.
There is no suggestion that Manfred has not done the job properly.

Beethoven and many of the great classical composers wrote music for lyrics ( in those days they called it libretto ) lots of it. To my knowledge he never wrote lyrics, only the music to suit. Mendelsohnn even wrote music for Shakespeare's poetry ( blank verse )

It's all been done before Neil. Many times. We can only follow in their footsteps. :)

I don't think there are many left following in those footsteps Nev, but good luck to them all. Heaven knows, we need diversity these days which is why it is great to see some of our poets matching it with our songwriters. Lyric wise at least. But if I hear one Banjo.........

It's going to be a great little song Manfred and I'd love to hear it one day. :)

Thanks for your comments ... :)
Heather, regards tense, two sentences - two different times. And yes, you will hear it .... :)
Thanks Matt, I'm happy with me, but I still look to Kelly and Dylan ... :D
Nev, we've moved on from then but I understand that some folks get stuck in a time warp ... :)
Cheap wine used to be in glass flagons, it's now cardboard plonk(and not a bad drop) :D
Neil, thanks for your kind comments. I've noticed that us geniuses are often misunderstood ...

I've knocked up a chorus (I edited the last version, go back for a look) even have a tune.
With a little more tweaking it may turn into a tolerable piece, but I like it so far ....

Now I can get back to some poetic projects ...

Thank you all for your comments ..
