Bob when I was a youngster I played Aussie rules in the Moorabbin thirds and meet many great friends some of which I still am in contact with.

Then I gave it up to go rodeo riding and gymkhanas in novelty events and Jumping with some success again meet many great friends which I am still in contact with.
Some years I later I came to live near Canberra and have seen the raiders quite a number of times I've had a meal or to with Laurie Daly, Tony Wood's who wears Raiders Mascot, who I often meet socially nearly every week.
Ruben Wiki his wife and two kids where my wife and I were often at their place for BBQ along with Bradley Clyde.
It was Mal Merninga that presented me with my one gallon bottle of Bells Whisky that I won in Raiders Raffle.
Friend ship comes in many forms not necessarily because of sport.

That was what I thought as well until you hung this on me ?

You talk of a mans game Bob. From what I see of the game a group of men get into a huddle sniff the bloke in front of him's backside then pinch his foot ball and then run like buggery trying to get away from him and his mates.
