Shooting Star

Shooting Star

Shooting star, shooting star,
I wish you wouldn’t shoot so far.

Is it duck or is it rabbit?
Shoot it down, then race and grab it,
Throw it in a hot ragout.
Yes, I’m looking straight at you!

Shooting star, shooting star,
I wish you wouldn’t shoot so far.

303 or 22?
It isn’t very nice of you.
It’s nasty, vicious, foul and mean.
You know you’ll never be a Green.

Shooting star, shooting star,
I wish you wouldn’t shoot so far.

It is a most unpleasant vice.
Why can’t you be sweet and nice?
Why can’t you be like a planet,
Just a harmless ball of granite?

Shooting star, shooting star,
I wish you wouldn’t shoot so far.

Shoot at bottles, shoot at clay.
Don’t tell me you were born this way.
Go and shoot upon a range.
Alas, I fear you’ll never change.

The moving target fights and having fought fights on - shooting at beer cans never has the same appeal to some people and there are the idiots who will shoot at anything that moves including stock inside the farmers fences :(

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
