Homework we 16/6. The News

Post by Neville Briggs » Thu Jun 05, 2014 8:35 am

THE NEWS

Each day I browse the paper front to back
Sighing at all the scandals and disasters;
Which team has failed and who has lost their money.
It's all so tragic, hardly ever funny,
Especially crimes by homicidal monsters.
You may think me a philistine or slack,
I just skim crime and sport or economics;
I'd rather check the crossword and the comics.

2nd go.

Each day I browse the paper front to back,
as usual it's scandal and disasters;
some lives are lost or someone's stolen money.
It's all so tragic, seldom ever funny,
filled up with deeds of psychopathic monsters.
Should I be found insouciant or slack
by briefly skimming — crime, sport, economics.
I'd rather check the crossword and the comics.

Yes Neville, its good to have a go at something a bit different, gets us thinking outside the square, so to speak. Its interesting the different take each of us put on the homework topic.

Maureen. It was a bit of a rush job so I have had a go at some revision.
