Homework 25/8

Post by Ron » Sat Aug 16, 2014 11:05 am

Bet You Know one

He’s a bloody ravin’ ratbag and a barfly to boot
And he’ll bend the lug of anyone in sight,
With verbal diarrhoea of such proportions to pollute,
Pakapoo tickets would not be in the fight!
A spieler who’s proverbial guide is, Rafferty’s rules
With ample bulldust delivered by the ton!
And with breath of a Barcoo buster, he gives cornered fools,
The responsive chance of Buckley’s to none!

Always givin’ a chyackin’ to some poor hapless soul
When relievin’ at the trough, splashin’ the boot!
And at bloodhouses o’er the tracks he’ll guzzle without control,
At those rough! rubbity dubs of ill repute!
Because at better establishments he’s come the raw prawn
And been barred for causing stoushes with his views,
With ‘big stick and bucket of eggs’ he’ll do wonders come the dawn
But don’t bet on it’s ‘the good oil’ cos’ you’ll lose!

From the big smoke to back o’ beyond he’s devoid of all shoosh!
The mouth almighty that anyone’s ear he’ll chew!
He was known by the Captain and the Bastard from the bush!
And everybody from Darwin to the Loo’!
And he is quite avoided, like a rotting goanna’s hide
So as not to be trapped as his fair-game!
And there are numerous of him that are spread far and wide
And if you don’t know, Bobnoxious …is his name!

Sounds like a catch Ron!! And I'm really impressed that you didn't have to resort to "bloody beaut".

Yes, rotting goanna hide at the dinner table wouldn't be very pleasant would it?

Dusted a few off from the vault there, Ron like "bucket of eggs and a big stick", and "breath of a Barcoo buster". Love it!

Good one. :D

Thanks Marty
Yeah 'going to do wonders with a bucket of eggs and a big stick!' must have been of Vic. origin, I'd never heard of it until the mid Seventies when I had a good mate from Mt. Moriac, near Geelong, working with me and that was one of his favourites. We worked together for Ten years or so and I'd like a quid for every time he used it! (I'd be rich!) :D
Cheers

Rest assured Bob, nothing personal there whatsoever! :o The name was just taken from a bloke that I knew of, who well and truly earned it, and that was about Thirty years a go (and he was from nsw)
