My Garden

Post by alongtimegone » Tue Oct 28, 2014 3:41 pm

My garden’s in its prime right now.
No vegies flowers or shrubs.
Not a single growing item
to entice those hungry grubs.
No nematodes destroying
all my young tomato plants.
No need to tear my hair out
In passionate rage and rants.
Don’t need no crop rotation
Don’t need no pest controls.
No worries if the neighbour’s dog
gets in and digs more holes.
I reckon I’ll just sit around
and vegetate this year.
My fertilizer’s in the fridge.
It’s labelled four x beer

I like your brand of fertilizer and especially like the convenient small bottles it comes in  I am thinking though that as gardening seems to not be your strong suite you stick to poetry  I enjoyed the read and btw, you might want to fix a typo in that first line Wazza - s/b its

Yes Neville but only until it's chilled.

Yes Bob - but nothing that would benefit at the moment..

Buggar! That's the second mistake I've made this month.

Marty, my grandparents kept the old chamber pot under their bed. They had the best vegie garden in the district

I believe that urine was once collected by the British military suppliers to make nitre which is an ingredient of gunpowder.

Also the bush people might like to know that once, stale urine used to be placed in a trough filled with wool so that workers could walk up and down trampling the mix and the ammonia from the urine cleaned the grease from the wool.
The occupational name for this was " walker ". So if any of your family has the surname Walker, then, well, you know where that came from.

You wanted to know that didn't you Wazza.

Did I ever tell you how they make fish sauce.
