Yeah, good stuff Terry. I can relate to that pretty well, had a few scraps in my time but as you say, many times you ended up mates...or at least having a few beers together!
PS, I didn't go looking for them either, it just seemed they would come to me, usually trying to keep, or get one of my mates out of trouble!

Yep being fleet of foot could have been a help, mind you galloping across those Gibber stones would be no mean feat.

There were a couple of pairs of girls who were mining in those early days and I reckon the knew how to look after themselves as well.

It just comes looking for you sometimes doesn't it, and and all your vows to not get involved in fights goes out the door if someone comes out swinging.
But as you say a couple of beers after usually did the trick.

I can't think of anyone I might have had a disagreement with holding any long term grudge - or me either for that matter.
