Phil, my "style" if you will, is short poems that can hopefully convey a scene or feeling in a few well chosen words. I'd rather drip feed than pour. I know what any poem I write means to me and hopefully I leave enough scope for the reader to make something out of it that means something to them. Long narratives are
never going to be my thing and I write first and foremost for me. If someone else enjoys it, that's a lovely bonus.
When I write an essay, a speech, or letter to the editor, that's when you'll get see me get wordy, but that's not what I want in my poetry.
