Good challenge Maureen! I looked at the number of lines and it's 13 - so I decided to add an extra one and turn my acrostic into a Shakespearean sonnet. Not sure it's my best effort, but this is what I came up with:
Cyclone Marcia
Crouching like a tiger off the coast
Yasi-like in her ferocity.
Category 5 – she is the most
Livid in her vexed velocity.
Outer islands listen in dismay.
News reports update repeatedly –
Etching lines across the path of day.
Minds accept the truth defeatedly.
Anastasia rallies with her speech –
Reinforcing calm, ostensibly.
Capricorn – from inland towns to beach
Instinct-guided, locked down sensibly.
Anxious as we play the waiting game …
wind cries Marcia! Marcia is my name!

Very nice, Shelly. Awaiting the attack of the 'couching tiger', locking down and playing the 'waiting game' pretty much sums up how people must have felt.

Nicely done Shelley. Last line made me think of Paint Your Wagon and the song "They Call the Wind Maria.

This is very well done Shelley - I particularly like the first and last lines.
