Lake Redbrook 2015 - "The Way We Were" Concert

Here are some pics from our recent themed concert "The Way We Were" at Lake Redbrook Holiday Retreat via Childers, Queensland. The first is Rod and me in our 1860s dress - celebrating the "Roaring Days" of the Gympie goldrush! Then a quick costume changes sees us featuring the years surrounding World War One - the era of "Legends and Larrikins". And last but not least - our beautiful location - silhouetted in the rising mist.

How come the sign says With Shelly and Rod and not with Rod and Shelly ?

Actually it was Rod who decided my name should go first - because he reckons I'm the Lady of Lines, and he's my sidekick!!

Thanks Neville - yes, he really does look the part in that vest, doesn't he? Even has the pocket watch and chain! Attention to detail - that's what it's all about !!

Dear me Bob - I'm definitely going to have to invoke the death penalty if you keep forgetting my second "E" !!

No worries Bobbo - I don't have a problem with "Shell"

The scary thing is ... people keep spelling my surname as "Hanson" instead of "Hansen". When I was born, my Mum wanted to call me Paula, but my Dad preferred Pauline. So they compromised with Shelley (as you do).

So ... if my Dad had got his way, once I married I would have become Pauline Hansen, which people would have spelt as "Pauline Hanson" ... despite the fact that I don't have red hair and I've never owned a fish and chip shop!!

Ahhhh ... the fine thread of fate!
