DESERT BLOODWOODS

Post by Cropduster » Fri Aug 28, 2015 1:07 pm

DESERT BLOODWOODS

Out where Desert Bloodwoods stand,
framed in parched and sun bleached bones,
lies a sacred ancient land
that no traveller ever owns.

Sit beneath the Desert Bloodwoods.
Shelter from relentless sun.
Look upon a sacred heartland.
You and mother are as one.

Pass on by those Desert Bloodwoods,
undisturbed skeletal remains.
Leave a footprint in the red soil.
Visitations she retains.

For mother watches as you traverse
across her sacred ancient land.
But do not linger any longer
than travellers might rightly stand.

Lest you join the bone collection,
Baking 'neath a searing sun.
Soak in all that ancient wonder.
Commit to heart, then move along.

A lot of the more desolate areas are like that Allan, we have a couple go off here most years in remote areas, usually through breaking down and not carrying enough water. In the years we spent out there, we came across a number of people like that and they were usually more or less out of water and on very isolated tracks and no means of communication.

You've covered it well Allan.

Cheers Terry
