Homework Ending 07/09/15 Pricless Masterpiece.

Post by Wendy Seddon » Mon Aug 31, 2015 11:51 am

Priceless Masterpiece

The Artist loaded up his brush, his noble plan unfurled,
his pallet barely tinted as he looked upon my world.
A silver thread meanders through the backdrop to his art
with golden specs, the gifts he plans to lay upon my heart.

A flourish of his hand and my horizons came to view,
the sunrise of my lifetime in its soft and naïve hue.
Water colour tendrils of the palest pink caressed
the softness of a landscape Godly made and heaven blessed.

A master artist sketching in the contours of my soul,
his hand so sure and steady, so completely in control.
A panorama coloured with His love for me which grows,
atop the steep blue mountains to the deep greens in the lows.

He picked a shade of deepest brown in contrast to the skies
to make my landscape fertile and then used it for my eyes.
A music score so lyrical, so sweet and softly played,
the soundtrack to my life composed from prayers for eons prayed.

Greys add definition to the features of my world,
while all the time a sun kissed ray of yellow through it swirled.
I will not dwell within the shade, the pure light beckons me
I’ll strive to live within its glow, for all eternity.

How very beautiful - I've read it three times over and love it. It is original and cleverly written and these lines are particularly lovely:

Water colour tendrils of the palest pink caressed
the softness of a landscape Godly made and heaven blessed

A master artist sketching in the contours of my soul,
his hand so sure and steady, so completely in control.

I will not dwell within the shade, the pure light beckons me
I’ll strive to live within its glow, for all eternity.

Definitely pat yourself on the back for this one! :)

Nicely done Wendy and there are some priceless lines in there - I agree with Catherine but for me having your eyes the same colour as the landscape was a real beauty.

Lovely words, Wendy and I agree with Catherine and Maureen - the lines Catherine quoted really appealed to me as well. I just love similes and metaphors, especially unusual ones!

Cheers, Shelley
