HOMEWORK PROMPTS FOR WEEK ENDING 2ND NOVEMBER 2015

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Mon Oct 19, 2015 10:49 am

Here we are again endeavouring to tantalize your brain cells and writing skills into some form of activity - the old forum has been pretty quiet over the last fortnight. School holidays I suspect may have played a part in that but maybe not. Still the 4 responses we received to the last lot of prompts was better than none and again very varied journeys taken by our poets.

We have just opened in my home town of Ipswich, a memorial wall to all the known coal miners lost here in mining accidents since records were kept. The memorial honours the 186 men and boys who lost their lives in coal mines across the region since operations started in 1843. The youngest was a lad of 14 - the oldest a man of 66. Its been a long time coming but needed to be done - we should never forget our history because remembering it might help us avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

Lets see what you can do with these prompts poets.

Earths riches

Hunger game

Facing night

Caught between days

A single shot

Turgid water

Cheers

Maureen

I may not always succeed in making a difference, but I will go to my grave knowing I at least tried.
