W/e 30/11/2015 - If you listen Carefully
If You Listen Carefully
Have you ever listened carefully when all is hushed around;
have you heard the sound of silence, when there is no other sound?
As you sit around your campfire - not a single thing has stirred -
not a living thing is moving, not the slightest noise is heard?
Special are these moments in our ever over-crowded world;
you must treasure every minute as this magic is unfurled.
And these moments will stay with you for as long as you may live;
you have shared the secret, and have sensed the pleasure it can give.

Nice one Terry - a moment of stillness and serenity in a frantic world. It sounds so appealing

Thanks Bill & Maureen
I've been a bit slack of late - busy with other things.
So thought it was time post something.

A bit of a puny effort this one,
hope to have a bit more time for the next one.

Definitely not puny Terry - a lovely poem that brings us all a moment of silence and thoughtfulness as we read it.

Lovely Terry. I've had those moments and you took me to the campfire and the peaceful night sky. I recall stopping on a trip from Licola to Jamieson in the middle of the bush and there was absolute silence - not even a bird. There's not many places you can hear that.

You're right, I've been lucky and have experienced it a few times in very remote places.
But even out there it's rare, there nearly always seems to be something; like a bird singing or a kangaroo hopping,
and when all else is quiet, any noise seems magnified.
It's hard to really explain adequately just how special those moments can be.
