homework 18/1/16
BRAND NEW DAY
The sun comes up with a raucous rattle
of the kookaburras jackass cackle.
Thank God, it's a brand new day.
And cows sit down by a shady tree
to chew and gaze contentedly.
Eat up, it's a brand new day.
The trees wave back and grass grows green,
and the river almost looks quite clean.
Great news, it's a brand new day.
The shoppers shop and spend their money,
retail sector's bright and sunny.
Rejoice, it's a brand new day.

There is something so heartening about a brand new day and a brand new piece of poetry. Well done Neville - succinct and to the point as well.

Good one Neville!
Reminds me of a little verse by that prolific writer A. Nonymous ...
Yesterday is gone - forget it! Shed no tears for what has passed,
spend no sleepless nights repeating all the fears that hold you fast.
Think no more of tasks unfinished, hopes that somewhere went astray.
Let it go. It's past. Forget it. This is yours - a brand new day!
Cheers
