Homework ..1st March.

Post by Neville Briggs » Sat Feb 20, 2016 12:44 pm

HOLY COAL

There's a hole where the coal used to be.
It is wider than valleys
And deeper than hell;
That's a whole lot of hole left from coal.

In the end who will fill in this hole.
Who will put back the green hills
And water the creeks;
What's the role of a hole after coal.

All the miners can go on the dole.
Leave that great gaping chasm
For someone to fix.
They'll just bolt with their profits from coal.

One last thing, on the whole, with that hole;
We've a hole in in our pocket
A hole in our head,
And with coal dust for dinner, we're dead.

A sad truth Neville as we have already seen around Ipswich - I like it as well - just hope that the pollies might be taking note of the voices of the people

Thanks Shelley :) Thanks Maureen :) Not much, but something to try out in a workshop. ;)

I know we need jobs and industry but there is multinational in our area which appears to be attempting to sell up and get away, leaving people out of work and a big dusty hole in the ground for someone else to fix up. l

Go easy on the coal dust on your sandwiches Neville. Nasty things those holes in the ground.

Good one Nev - I particularly like...
