I'd suggest that if "backward put" is the only way to put it, then it shouldn't be put at all! (Unless it is a deliberate use of reverse syntax). Nothing worse than a backward put rhyme.

Soft cheese, Maureen? Who would have thought? I only knew "quark" as a particle in the physics world, one of the fundamental constituents of all matter, so I figured ducks must have 'em. (That's my explanation, anyway, and I'm sticking with it!)

You could not have put it neater
to assert you're not a cheater
using "quark" to just complete a
line with perfect rhyme and metre!!!!

Sorry David (yes, I know it is getting worse and I should be charged with GBH to good poetry) ;)

Oh - and thanks Wendy - for another word that rhymes with metre!! :lol:
