WET AND WILD ... Maureen Clifford © The #ScribblyBark Poet

There's never a dull moment when you give a group of kids,
some sheets of builder's plastic and some soap,
then give them access to the hose or water in a bucket
and let them lose somewhere that has a slope.

You'll soon realize a flash mob has appeared before your eyes
as down the plastic sheet they slip and slide,
and it is somewhat edifying watching them have fun -
it might cause your inner child to come outside.

So on those hot and humid days embraced by lowering clouds,
without a drop of those midsummer rains
comes round to make you swelter, simply think outside the square ...
and have fun with no cash outlay - use your brains.

Nothing like some good old-fashioned outdoor fun, hey Maureen!

The best fun in life is often free!

Personal remembering Maureen? Fun was cheap back in the day!
I loved running through the sprinkler. Softens the bindies too!

I remember doing the same Wendy with my son when he was little - simpler times, happier times.

Kids can be the ultimate flash mob, Maureen, especially when water is involved in the middle of summer. Like Wendy, we ran through the sprinkler...not enough room for those sheets of plastic.

Cheers
David
