Hi Maureen - an interesting mix that led me down the path of a potential personal journey this week!
FACING THE FUTURE
(c) Shelley Hansen 12/2/17
Alas! Time waits for no man - and for woman, even less -
and so I wonder - should we think of changing our address?
We cannot wind the clock back. Is it time to relocate,
avoiding the frustration caused by leaving it too late?
"Downsizing" is a modern word that trips right off the tongue,
but change is so much harder than it was when we were young.
Disposing of the memories that cling to bric-a-brac
brings trepidation, with the knowledge we cannot go back.
We tend to over-complicate and reinvent the wheel,
and make decisive judgments on how other folk should feel.
"Why don't they just do this or that? It's crystal clear," we think ...
until the day we too stand hesitating on the brink.
But still the future must be faced, and we must make the choice
to sway with sentiment, or be convinced by reason's voice.
Yet I am sure my memories and I will never part -
whichever path we must pursue, they live within my heart.

Good one Shelley and good use made of the prompts- it is the clutter we need to offload not the memories - the memories are what keep us warm in our autumn years
but the clutter are just dust traps.

I like this a lot Shelley. A heart full of memories, yes please!
I always wonder when 20 years start. Or even 10?
......as in "I should have done it 10/20 years ago"?
And what should I be doing now that I won't need to say it
in 10/20 years time? Hmmmmm...........

Hmmmmm indeed, Wendy!!
Reminds me of something I read somewhere: "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
Cheers
