homework 20/03/17

Post by Wendy Seddon » Wed Mar 15, 2017 11:21 am

Note: I don't really feel this despondent! It's just where the prompts led me!

I’m searching for a place to store my nightmares.
I’m tired of how they always rule my head.
I need to find a sturdy lock to keep them from my mind,
and quiet all these thoughts so full of dread.

The Sunday morning madness that is church,
with all its ‘happy clappy’ songs and dance,
can’t help me now when all I need is solace -
nibbling cake and sipping coffee in a trance.

Bargain hunters gather up all kinds of cult and sect
which offer up an answer of some kind.
They tyre-kick and stumble till they find the one to suit,
and mistakenly they call it peace of mind!

Well, that is certainly coming from left field, Wendy!

Cheers

Different is good - it does sound as if your MC is a bit pissed off with life but then I am sure from time to time we all are  I have never managed to capture the 'shopping makes me feelgood' bug - to me it makes me miserable I get ticked off with the bad service and ridiculous prices and dare I say the shallowness of some people - but we are all different - that is what makes life interesting. You made good use of the prompts with this piece Wendy, well done.
