Good on you Terry - that was an enjoyable journey I took with you and Val - I visualized every step as your words bought it to life. No wonder it bloody won, would be hard to beat

Cheers

Maureen

Thanks again Everybody,
I'm flat out like a lizard drinking water as the old saying goes so not getting much time
to read and post much at the moment.

G/day Dave,
We're still trying to find a couple of spare days so we can catch up with you and Elaine.
Your right it's harder to get moving these days but you love it once you're out there.

Thanks Irene,
Yes progress is fast catching up with the bush, it's alive with activity these days
but hopefully pretty quiet still up on the Ashburton, I'm off as soon as I have my colonoscopy.

Hi Sue,
I'm really pleased you liked this, they were great times when Val and I prospected together,
she still does the odd trip but is starting to enjoy her home comforts these days

Thanks Neville,
As I said to Heather getting the right poem into the right comp. helps I think.
There were probably lots of poems at least as good as this that may have missed out
but will possibly win in another comp.

Cheers and thanks again to you all for your kind words

Terry

Lovely poem, Terry. Congratulations!

One small point: 'Dreamer's' (last line, verse 4) doesn't need an apostrophe.

Hi Maureen And Stephen,

Maureen I reckon you would have loved the prospecting life,
You're never short of ideas for poems, but that would have
opened up a whole new vista for you - Thanks

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for for your kind words and for picking up that mistake.

You have found one of my Achilles heels (there are a few of them) when it comes to trying to write poetry, punctuation.

Cheers Terry
