Yes, you're right about the Eisteddfods. A couple of my poems have already been used in that context, and I think there are many more poems in the book that would work well that way. I have contacted a number of the state-based Speech and Drama Teachers' Associations, and am already getting some interest.

The other area I'm looking at is environmental education. There are quite a number of poems, especially in the middle of the book, about bush walking and camping, the mountains, the snow, the beach, the ocean, native birds and animals, etc. I have written an article about the book for the next edition of "Park Watch", the newsletter of the Victorian National Parks Association.

No problems with you plugging your own book, David!

I think it's a stand out cover Stephen. love it! Congratulations on seeing the dream through to a successful end. All the best for sales. You should contact the Children's Book Council of Australia and make some enquiries. It would certainly sell if it were to make it onto their short list.

A year or so ago I attended a talk by one of the CBC judges on the judging process. She said she had had to read about 200 books. I asked her how many of them were poetry. She thought there might have been one...
