Best Mates
Just a Quick one
Best Mates
You make a lot of friends in life as most can well relate,
but there are very few, that you could really call a mate.
A good mate is a precious friend and one you can’t replace,
someone who’ll stand beside you in whatever you may face.
Escaping from the pressures of a modern city life;
perhaps to give a little space to your poor frazzled wife.
You call upon your best mate then to go and chase a trout,
and let your built up stresses slowly start to filter out.
And mateship’s last a lifetime – strengthen as the years accrue,
somehow there still remains a bond no matter what you do.
And mates will always be around when things are looking bleak;
you’re not sure where to turn next, and you’re up that well known creek.

Re: Best Mates
Thanks for the replies
Bob,
I reckon if you're really lucky you have two best mates at anyone time.
N01 of course is your wife or husband (can't forget the girls)
The other, your best friend, the one person outside your family who will stick by you regardless, a person you can confide in and know they'll respect your confidences.
Marty,
I don't think many people go through life and have more a hand full of mates, most of us if we really think about would only have a few life long mates that would meet the criteria, of what I'd call a true mate.
Heather,
Lucky is the person who has a true mate, Everyone should have one.
