Heather that is delightful - Full of frippery and fancy and a dainty little piece. Very girly IMO ;) Well done

Thanks Maureen, a bit of whimsy on a Summer's day. I'm a bit unsure of it so feel free to be critical people (nicely though).

Ht Heather,

A really nice happy little poem and I think you have got it pretty well spot on.

I really like the rhythm of this one as well.

Cheers Terry

Thank you Terry.

Bob, what's girly about the sun? See if you can't read it and see the sun doing all those things - I can... :)

Yes, Heather, very pretty. But does the Sun embrace the night, or rage against it? I guess you've told us she (she?) embraces it, so it must be true.

Very very good Heather :) :) you are learning really well how to be expressive with language, which is the heart of poetry as far as I am concerned ;)

Stephen, "she" will do whatever your imagination wants her to do.

I fought with embraces, succumbs, welcomes - the night. Succumbs might be a better word.

Each afternoon the sun sprinkles the new leaves (the tips) of the red gums and the slope of the hill here with golden light. It is truly a beautiful and peaceful sight.

After the 2009 bushfire we had a lot of smoke in our sky for weeks and I recall two evenings sitting on top of our hill and watching this massive, firey glowing crimson ball (made redder because of the smoke) in the sky, just sliding, ever so gracefully behind the hills on the horizon. I don't think those photos are on my computer but I'll see if I can transfer them and show you - it was amazing. That's what I see.

Manfred the stars here are amazing. No city lights to block out their brightness.

Thanks Neville. I'm trying. :) (Go for it Bob!)

Heather :)
