Please advise...
I have submitted a poem to...
HENRY LAWSON FESTIVAL
8-11 June 2012
Entries closed 30th March 2012
Condition 3 reads...
"Each entry must be original and not have been previously entered in this competition, published or publicly broadcast"
This poem has a strong ANZAC theme and I think may be well recieved by a local paper and even a radio broadcast.
Question:
Is it OK to follow these avenues now or would it be 'safer' to hold off this year? I have not done anything yet.

Wait Wendy. The last thing you want is the embarrassment of being disqualfied because your poem was printed in the local paper. There's always next ANZAC Day or Remembrance Day. Patience girl, patience!

I agree,
If it is that good, time can only mature it a bit.
I recall a big competition with big prize money a few years back (and I'm talking National exposure) where a well known poet had to publicly apologise and return the prize money. if it happened to me I would want to vanish from the poetry scene- never to be seen again.
