There was another good gathering of poets and performers at Wombat Pub last Sunday (Aug 26).
Organised by the indefatigable Greg Broderick and Ted Webber from Young, the event is gaining popularity, with poets attending from Tumut, Temora, Young and all around the local area, including yours truly from Binalong.
Sue Pearce gave us a taste of her humour - by her own admission, she is more comfortable with serious material but she did a good job. John Peel showed his versatility by singing an old favourite, When the Rain Tumbles Down in July, which I think is the first record Slim Dusty recorded - no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong! Of course, many other fine poets recited, but I don't know everyone's name.
It was a fantastic evening, and if you want to join us, it is held 4th Sunday of every second month, 7pm at the Wombat Hotel, where you can get great pizzas to munch while listening.
Cheers
Robyn
