Reasoning with the Weather

Reasoning with the Weather

You cannot reason with the weather,
Call it up and have a chat.
It isn't fastened to a tether;
Hard to know just where it's at.

There is no over-riding force
Responsible for heat and cold.
It's air and water and, of course,
It doesn't do what it is told.

It isn't linked up to a brain,
Or electronics on a desk.
It's sun and wind and cloud and rain,
And can be very picturesque;

But it can be most ugly, too,
Upturning table, or a chair.
It can damage me and you.
The worst is that it doesn't care.

The weather's quite immune to reason.
If we want to save the day,
Extending Mankind's jolly season,
We must find another way.
