COPPER CROC

Post by Glenny Palmer » Fri Feb 14, 2014 8:25 pm

Just a quick message to say I will be running just the Written comp this year for 'The Copper Croc'. I will post the details over the weekend. I've spent the last 2 weeks submerged in abandoned cat & kittens dramas, & I just could not get stuck into the comp, try as I might.

I apologise for the delayed announcement, but on the up-side it will be a 'Flash Gordon' comp & your poems won't be held hostage for long.

I thank you all again for your wonderful support for the inaugural comp last year. Here's hoping I haven't left it too late for you.

See you on here tomorrow...or Sunday.....XX

Thanks Glenny,

I am getting back into 'it' and hope to have a poem or two to enter. It's been some time since I have really felt the urge to write but lately it is nibbling at me again. it was November 2011, the last time I wrote a good one. (IMHO) So lets hope the dry spell had passed.

Hellooo Zondrae,
Much the same here love. But it's more down to being ultra busy than anything else. I think I've figured out 'writer's block'... :? Perhaps because we love our craft we don't wish to 'fit it in' around all the extraneous dramas and therefore turn it into a 'cat's lick and a promise' exercise, or worse, a chore. And so, when other pressures are predominant, do we subconsciously 'shut down' the inspirational gene until time to really commune with our craft becomes more accessible? Most of my family are creatives and they agree with this theory. My oldest girl Tammy heartily agrees with this as she can only cope with the grind only for so long, and then, just like me, she pops her cork and rails against it.

Anyway....I must knuckle down before today's unknowns explode. I am really hoping for a similar response to last year's entries as I have no sponsorship this year. I feel confident that I will have my brain cells regenerated sufficiently to apply for grants/sponsorship for next year, as I am really keen to offer two main sections....Serious and Humorous.

Ever onward....and good luck with your new works Zondrae.

:D :D Glenny

Glenny,

It is heartening that, I have on good authority, the written section of the Yass Show Poetry Competition has more entries that last year. I will be crossing my fingers for the Kembla Flame this year. It will be number three. If the numbers are OK I'll order a couple more of the trophies. We have had a few new faces at IBP meetings and some old ones return. So numbers have been up. I hope it is a sign of things to come.
