Homework Dec 1st: I galloped, he galloped, we galloped...

Post by David Campbell » Wed Nov 19, 2014 5:18 pm

I galloped, he galloped, we galloped…

“The coach is stuck, the bridge is out,”
cried Dad.
“It’s bad!
We’ve had
no mail for weeks; without a doubt
this is a great disaster
that we will have to master,
so all will have to rally round
to get the coach on firmer ground!”

I galloped, he galloped, we galloped
at play…

“Don’t worry, Dad, for I am here,”
I said,
“so read-
y, stead-
y, valiant and without fear.
I’m willing and quite able
to use my bovid stable
to send the message that we need
our friends right here with utmost speed!”

I galloped, he galloped, we galloped
away…

I grabbed my good mate, Ginger Mick:
“Let’s go
and show
that no
domestic beast is quite as quick…
no mountain horse or pony…
as my goats Bill and Tony!”
We mounted up, as heroes do,
and so the Royal Mail got through!

I galloped, he galloped, we galloped
all day…

and taught those bloody Cobb & Co horses not to be so hoity-toity because now everyone would know that a couple of pet goats saved their bacon!

Indeed, Bill. Although we've got an election in Victoria next week and, as Heather will know, there's a fair bit of goatish behaviour going on down here as well.

Elections are funny,
they're all about money
which leaps into life with the stroke of a pen.
And when the day's over
we'll all be in clover...
but that's when we find that it's vanished again!

Cheers
David

I was thinking more along the lines that the goats could do a better job. :)

Man is the most intelligent of the animals...and the most silly.
(Diogenes)

We have a cynic at our place,
it’s made of stainless steel,
and occupies the pride of place
soon after ev’ry meal.

Each grotty plate and dirty cup
is stacked there way up high,
until we do the washing-up
and wipe that cynic dry.

When Jacqui Lambi can get 1200 votes (according to ABC's The Drum) and hold the country to ransom, something's not quite right is it?
