HOMEWORK PROMPTS FOR WEEK ENDING 25.1.2015

Post by Maureen K Clifford » Mon Jan 12, 2015 3:46 pm

Some good poems came out of the last lot of prompts - look at the response to David's and Shelley's peomes - admittedly the responses got a bit off track ( no surprises there :D) but a fair bit of discussion was entered into which is great.

To all who participated - well done - you all did a great job.

OK so for the next fortnights writing effort - David has suggested that we have a go at writing a sea shanty or nautical type of poem since we are as he said 'girt by sea'. With our vast coastline - the sea plays a huge part in the lives of everyday Australians. We either sail on it, fish in it, swim in it, dump pollutants into it, transport goods and livestock over it and it carries a % of people to our shorelines every year as well - as it had done for years - thousands of years. Whether they came as convicts, were washed ashore after shipwreck, paddled a canoe, came aboard a luxury liner or a leaky wooden boat - they came, so it shouldn't be too hard to come up with something that suits the theme.

Lets see how you do people and thank you David C. for the suggestion.
