TREMOR

Shaken from fitful slumber
Jolted by a memory long suppressed
My dreams had been possessed
By demons battled long ago
In fields too far distant to remember

Awaken from an induced coma
Revolted by memory long forgotten
In the state of Denmark, something rotten
Had risen up from drifts of snow
To fuel the fire, fanning glowing embers

Frozen for a moment longer
Exalted by the power to repress
The apparition that stands before me, clearly dressed
For battle, be not friend but foe
I smite the blighter, dismembering it so

And repose once more in triumphant vanquished glow
