Cinquain for Summer

Summer
blistering road
bounces heat-shimmer back
striking my eyes without mercy
scorching

Summer
breathing hot air
through the dust in my throat
searching horizon for storm clouds
brewing

Summer
slicing white light
preludes thunder's refrain
torrents of water stream earthward
blessing

Oh this is lovely Shelley - well done - love the way you have captured the feeling of the heat and the dust and the final blessed release when that rain finally falls. Nicely crafted.
