Homework ending 28-12/15 - Cat's Cradle

Post by Wendy Seddon » Thu Dec 17, 2015 9:40 am

Cat's Cradle

Paper wings wrapped up in dreams
tied with ribbons and bows,
a cat be-whiskered lies beside
but ever the darkness grows.

Take a blade and cut the ties
release your fantasies,
cradle the cat and fly away
look down upon the trees.

Find a place to sit awhile
heed the kitten’s purrs,
be calm and quash anxiety
every time it stirs.

I immediately saw in my minds eye a Christmas tree with the little cat lying quiet beside it and then the frazzled Mum taking a bit of time out to calm herself stroking the kitty whilst enjoying a cuppa... or maybe that is imagination in overdrive. This is lovely Wendy.
