Global Warming ?

GLOBAL WARMING?

Through May to July, the temperature drops
Without warning, throughout each night.
The farmers who seeded their cereal crops
Were hoping for rain, not frost of white.

The sky in May is so blue, cloudless and wide.
Sunlight, like lasers, beam through each bough.
The trees dressed in lace in this autumnal tide.
But all beauty’s forgot, ‘Close the door now!’

Mornings in July when my toes touch the floor
They recoil straight back up, covered over.
Then I pluck up courage and dive for the door,
On the way snatching jeans and pullover..

With boots, gloves and hat, to the garden I shuffle
All the warmth in my body, I’ll not share.
As I break ice on the birdbath, I start to snuffle,
And I run back inside to my home-warming air!

Rejoice Eliza - Spring is here - cold toes no more and jumpers scarcely needed    Isn't it wonderful

Cheers

Hi Maureen, It is warmer between 11am an 3pm down here in the South.

The jumpers are still needed but the bright colours in the trees and gardens warms the views. The wattles line our country roads.

The Appaloosa foals have dropped just in time to enjoy the sunshine and for a real year length birthday next year.

Life is blooming everywhere!

A stunning spring day here too Eliza. Wattles in blossom everywhere. I've planted quite a few down the driveway and have decided more are needed! Tonight there is the most amazing sky - clear light sky full of stars and a bright quarter moon. Scent of wattle wafting gently in the air. Simply gorgeous. Makes you feel good to be alive,

Heather :)

Why are you so sad, Bob, you have it all to your self!
For a few days at most, when the SA nomads arrive. :o

15? That was our highest this week, until today when it gets over 20 just for the day mind you.

No Bob, it is nothing like the QLD air. The cool crispness of spring mornings, the dew, the frost, the smell of spring in the air - it's a Victorian experience (& probably NSW too). Can't beat it.

Heather :)

PS Thanks for the endorsement Eliza but I think I'll give PM a miss - can do without politics in my life!
