Take the time to catch up with your friends.
Last year when I went to Queensland, I went out as far as Blackwater, on the way to Yeppoon. (Yes, I know it was a roundabout way!!)
I really wanted to keep going, as I had friends in Isisford, but decided I didn't have time, so told them I would catch them next time I was over there. Maureen passed away today after a fall, and it is a timely reminder to me that you should take the time to catch up with friends while you can, rather than putting it off until later - for we never know what life has in store for us.
This is for Maureen - rest peacefully.
There’s a very special star that shines upon us all tonight.
It’s the spirit of a special friend who’s vanished from our sight;
it’s a spirit who was loved on earth by all who knew her name;
with a heart of gold, and love to share – this lady’s claim to fame.
She is flying high with angels now, her earthly body spent,
on a journey to the heavens we were helpless to prevent.
But her spirit’s everlasting, and is held within our heart -
precious bonds of love forever strong that death can’t tear apart.
See the tears we cry in sorrow Maurs, and know how much we care;
Feel the arms we wrap around you, tho’ we know you are not there.
Hear the pride we speak in knowing you, the pain that makes us weep;
and we thank you Maurs for memories each one of us will keep.

Beautiful sentiments expressed in a beautiful way Irene.
A lady who obviously was loved by all who met her.

A lovely tribute Irene to a friend who I am sure knows you loved her
So sad for your loss Mate - but speak of her often - that way she will live for ever.
Cheers

So sad to hear of your loss, Irene. You have written a lovely tribute to your friend. Don't be too hard on yourself please. Your trip was packed so full, & I feel blessed that you visited me. It is a timely reminder to make the most of every day with loved ones & friends alike.

You obviously have wonderful memories of your friend Irene, it's these memories that inspire you to write so beautifully about her,hold them close to your heart, she'll always be with you.

Sorry seem so inadequate at times like this when trying to express sympathy to a friend - a lovely poem Irene.

Deepest sympathy Irene,
My heart goes out to you. You have to take comfort in knowing that, while ever you think of her, and mention her name from time to time, she is still with you, in spirit if not in flesh.
I too lost a very dear, long term (over 45 years) friend this year. Your poem is a beautiful tribute. Thank you for sharing it with us.
