Printer woes

Post by Bob Pacey » Wed May 18, 2011 8:32 am

Help ! The lady who does my cds has had a major breakdown on her printer which prints directly onto the surface of the cd. They appear to be a drying breed can anyone reccommend a model with this function.

Will check tonight Manfred. The only glass master I have is the one I use for rum and coke. You know the same as you use for vodka !!!!

Bob,

If you are looking for a printer to print the CD label directly on the disc rather than have a stick on label. I have .
Canon i865 that does this very well. It also prints great photos.

Mate, there are a stack with this function. Probably the Canon range as Zondrae mentioned are well worth a look at. They all do a pretty good job, as long as you use a good quality printable disc. It will never be production standard, but pretty good. If you use cheap discs, the print will bleed into the CD/DVD printable area over a period of time, making the disc unplayable, something that people fail to take into account. So look at about $200 - $250 for a decent printer with CD print tray and then pay a bit extra for a decent quality disc.

Cheers
Neil
