Coober Pedy or Bust

The Intrepid travellers have reach Coober Pedy, 7 nights bush camps, 4 hot showers, 3 cold tubs, 1335 klm, 216 Lts diesel $445 (Laverton to Coober Pedy), 32 Cd’s of The Clan of the Cave Bear “Oh No the last two discs are missing.” What happened at the end of “The Valley of the Horses”?

Russ’s land Cruiser broke down 180 k West of Coober Pedy, Injector Pump failed we had to tow him out of the desert a 12 hour tow, got into town just on dark got set up and started cooking tea and the rain came down and came down and came down, the next day we all booked into a cabin and dried out. Tents and swags laid out on the lawn but hey all good now.

Russ car should be going in the morning if so we will be heading for The Alice to see Ross.

Will be back next time we have signal.

If you really want to know what happened to Jondalar and Ayla - Bob and I can help out Dave :lol: :lol: who ever would have thought that Jean Auel was so much read amongst poetic types but you two are dragging the chain a bit :lol: :lol:

It is filed under Prehistoric Fiction in our local library so Dave should fit in well with the two of us under that heading. :lol:

Sounds like an adventure Dave! :) I think you've done really well to get in four showers in seven nights on the run! Or did you have them all one after the other?

Well we are in Alice Springs, it’s been a bit of a hassle and I best get it right or Ross will get me.

We didn’t get away from Coober Pedy till late Friday and after a bush camp made it to within 60 k of Alice by 2.45pm and it was on again Russ blew out a Glow Plug (a hangover from the injector pump trouble) So I took the girls and raced into town booked them into a cabin then picked up a Glow plug and Ross (with esky) and took off back to Russ, in all the confusion I forgot to get fuel so of course ran out. Any how I had a drum in my trailer so we tanked up got Russ going and made to Ross and Sheryl’s for a BBQ tea even if we were a bit late, we told a few TRUE stories and drank a few beers and a good time was had by all. What’s more I am now the proud owner of a signed copy Ross’s book “Course I’m Bloody Dinkum!”

I have a few photos coming out so I will post some as I get signal.
