I'd suggest you record the poem and ask
Elaine Delaney to mimic the magpies call.
She's a whizz at this sort of thing.

Re: how do you spell...
G'day Joe,
What a good idea. Perhaps I might record some Magpies when I am at Cobago in February. There are always lots of them about early in the mornings. Another thought... with technology being what it is and 'clip art' allowing us to down load images - is there a similar 'clip sound'? - does anyone know?I'll ask around.
Elaine really is amazing, the way she can reproduce so many different bird calls. Doing bird calls is yet another small tradition that it dying out, along with gum leaf playing. I have seen her perform at Laggen Pub and also over the weekend at Crookwell. I wonder what some city kids would think if we suggested someone could entertain people by doing 'bird calls' and what the urban 'bird call' would be?
I can imagine a mix of Greg North's character who recites 'Fully Sick' and the term 'bird calls'. Perhaps Greg might give us a take on this.

G'day Zondrae. You reminded me of Greg North's recitation about Corryong, where he transforms the word Corryong into frog croaks, the sound of cars zooming down the highway and some sort of whipbird call
