For any of you who have littlies who are scared by the swooping magpies during nesting season you might love this little song to play to them.
It is sung (with a bit of help I suspect from his missus and billy lids) and produced by a local Brisbane bloke – well Bribie Island bloke who is on another forum I use but it is a great little song for the littlies. Enjoy

Re: THE MAGPIES SONG
A few maggies on a daily basis visit my backyard.
They cause no consternation for me, even at nesting time.
I guess they have come to 'know' me.
The 'bloke' - are you able to reveal his name ?
I have rellos on Bribie and intend visiting later this year.

Hi Jim - His name is Sean Scott and this is is website http://www.agedmusic.org/main.htm
My maggies don't bother me either nor the dogs I have a family of 5 here and to hear them singing is one of my greatest delights.
I think as you say they do get used to you and know you mean no harm to them
Cheers

Re: THE MAGPIES SONG
Hi Maureen and Jim. I work with these birds every day. Maggies, Butcherbirds, Kookaburras and once they trust you they almost talk to you. Nothing more rewarding then to stoip for a few minutes and listen to the Butcher birds calls. I have one that follows me to the pool area just to check if any treats are caught in the filter.
