Thanks, Marty...
Beautifully done. Hopefully, this will be the case for a large portion of our younger generations...that they will continue to remember and honour the fallen, and pass that tradition on to their own children so that "We will remember them".
Cheers, Will.

I do a lot of reading and not much posting Marty. I have two left feet when it comes to writing poetry as well (just ask the wife!).
But mate I do enjoy what I read and I really appreciated this. Well done.
It is good to see the turn outs to the Anzac day marches and for Rememberance day services. I was on site at a nursing home on the 11/11 last year and most of those in the group would have been involved in or touched by war. You could read the pain in their faces. It is something we should never forget.

Oh well the bloke who does the furniture removal and the bloke with a horse are both well deserving of the award IMO Good on you Marty - excellent piece - well deserved the award.
Cheers

Used to Maureen, used to!.I now carry a cross around and flash it at people who start talking to me about furniture removals..
Marty, don't know about beer & shiela's, but, being Aussies I'm sure they would have found both.

Dear Marty,
Each year in March I conduct an Anzac Tribute at the John O'Brien festival in Narrandera, where featured poets present poetry and song in remembrance of the fallen and returned servicemen and women.
With your permission, I would like to recite 'Poppies' this year, acknowledging your success and as the author; unless of course you may be there to do so yourself.
