Punctuation please.

Actually, that's not quite right, is it. You would then have sequential semi-colons within the one sentence. I don't think you can do that. I would get rid of the first semi-colon - replace it with a full stop, and start a new sentence at that point, then put a semi-colon in at the end of the second last line.

At last a real clue as to the correct use of the semi-colon. I might try using one now that I have a real idea of when to use it. I must have been away from school the day we did this punctuation mark. I don't remember ever being taught how to use it (them).
