What about if we all play nice and go back to being friends.
And where is the censorship now? Or have I been given a “ bum steer” (page 182 Australian Concise Oxford Dictionary “false information”).

Re: Cattle grazing in the Alps
who's not friends Dave? This is just a bit of banter and a no holds barred discussion....I'm still smiling
Takes more than this to make me cranky. Are you cranky Kym? Bill might be a bit toey? Marty is stirring...and Stephen just asked the question. I think Mannie is fence sitting with Leonie, although I think he has a spoon in his hand helping Zondrae with her rabbit stew and Keats is being political. Matt and Trisha are standing by as peacekeepers in case we forget ourselves.

Now now leave the governments conservation policies alone! Look how much they are putting into desalination plants, which is wonderful given the threat of extinction to this rare plant from the small nation of Desla, bless their green hearts.
Re: Cattle grazing in the Alps
I guess it all boils down to moderation (hey, there's a good word!) and everyone doing the right thing by the planet. I'm sure there probably are more wildflowers without the cattle grazing in the high country - and especially with all the extra rain we've had this past few months - but there must also be areas of the high country where the cattle are not permitted graze (I'm guessing here).
I do know that on our road we are not allowed to clear the fallen trees because it is a protected area. I also know that during the Black Saturday fires, roadways and water ways were the conduit for the fires because of the build up of flammable material. There needs to be a balance.
Marty you may scoff at the idea of cyclone Yasi being a result of global warming but that type of event is exactly what the scientists have predicted - more severe weather events - floods, cyclones, fires, snow and blizzards in places, hotter in others, etc. I'm not debating how or why the globe is warming but it does seem to be doing what the scientists have predicted - look at hurricane Katrina, Yasi, bushfires in Vic, WA, blizzards in England and USA this year alone.
Bob where's your face gone? Are you getting a new one soon?
Dave good to see you are still there bumming around. I thought we'd bumped you off

Ooh, ooh,
while we're on the subject of Yasi. I think the weather must be getting worse because according to CNN Yasi blew Queensland all the way down to Tasmania.

Whoa, she was one powerful storm Leonie
You'd like it in Tasi, it's not as hot down there!
Queensland, beautiful one day, in Tasi the next!

Re: Cattle grazing in the Alps
Hell leonie flammin hell woman when Yasi blew you down to Tasmania why did you dump all your water there in Victoria while you were on the way down and yes Heather there are protected areas where no cattle go and I get a bit stired up about stock not going into the high country because my Aunty and uncle and two cousins lost their lives because of all the undergrowth that was allowed to increase
sorry Stephen no offence was meant to you and others when I vented my feelings Neville I think would under stand the reason why.

Not "fence-sitting at all", we're all adults here, and we can handle everything that's dished out without beating the crap out of eachother (AND still remain friends) ...Maureen K Clifford wrote: ...
