not trying to start a political stoush (much) but isn't this an example of the Greens sway over federal labour? When the cattlemen say the only way to keep the fire fuel load down is by grazing, there's a chorus of "well . . . they would say that, wouldn't they". But maybe, just perhaps . . . they're right?

Cheers, Marty (the other Marty who doesn't shoot Greenies)

You know folks we need a bit of green but just enough to keep the rest of the world honest, what we don’t need are the radicals who want to either shut every thing down or rip it all up and have lots of lovely boodle. What we need is a balanced compromise, but hey we are talking about Gov and money V the people never gunna happen, I live in a coal mining town and “they” want to shut off the power stations and ban uranium mining, my mate has a bumper sticker that reads

“Ban all mining and let the ecological bas***ds freeze to death in the dark”

I say work together and “Save the World” cough cough.

TTFN 8-)
I Keep Trying

Very interesting topic and comments. I'd just like to ask if the fires were as hot, fierce and as frequent as I've seen in the media and heard about since returning to Victoria in 2002-03 compared to previous decades when the cattle were grazing up on the high country? :?:

Cheers Nerelie
