Sunday Night Fever
If there is anyone around Singleton way on Sunday evening, at a loss for something interesting to do. There is planned an evening of uplifting culture.
What is hoped to be available is fine McGuigan's Hunter Valley wine, along with fresh crispy crackers, imported English cheese, also olives, chilli salami and herb bread.
There will be no radio or television permitted. Only the operation of the house CD player which is set up for a sumptuous feast of Beethoven Purcell, Handel and Shostakovitch.
The highlight of the evening is being arranged, which is to be a readings of the bush poetry of Bruce Dawe,, Les Murray and Melissa Smith; by that eminent and renowned poetry reciter Mr N. Briggs. Also planned is the Australian premiere of a new poem in honour of the former heroic arts minister, it is called " Senator Brandis contemplating his sweaty Jockstrap "
It is expected that Mr. Briggs will be willing to do an encore with a baritone solo of " Whispering Hope' skilfully accompanied by himself on the classical guitar.
It will be a RAVE ! folks.
Please R.S.V.P. by 5pm, Friday 2nd October.
Conditions apply; ...... Anyone discussing football will be asked to leave.
