THE POWER OF WORDS
Do we realize the power of our words? As wordsmiths we should ...if our words were to have this effect how would we feel???

Re: THE POWER OF WORDS
That is the first line from The Quartermasters Store Heather and the rest is not for publication as I have a reputation to protect and I already spend too much time in this bloody corner.

gEEZ...
The good old QS.
When I did Nasho's in 57. I was introduced to the Q.
They gave me a matress cover.
Into the cover they threw everything, housemaid, washer, bootbrushes, etc. Then they plonked a hat on my head, gave me shirts, trousers, a palliouse, and other stuff and shoved me out the door.
Then I had to drag all this stuff up a hill to my designated section of a basic living quarters (hut) and make my bed and claim my spot.
The best time of my life.
Yeah, Maureen.
One Question. ???
If the woman was blind. How did she see the blind man.?

When you joined up and the QS gave you your kit and you went up the hill with your housemaid how come you had to make your own bed???
Isn't that a bit like vacumning before the daily cleaner comes to the house?

Do Not know if that is the correct spelling Marty but it is like your swag.
Won a quiz at the Australia Day celebrations this year cause I was the only one of all the people there who knew what a Matilda was ?????
Hard to believe.

Re: THE POWER OF WORDS
Actually the spelling is I think palliasse a mattress which used to be filled with straw and A housemaid apart from the obvious is/was the sewing kit that the army issued so the blokes could sew buttons, chevrons etc onto their uniforms as well as do running repairs
