Nicknames ect

Post by Bob Pacey » Fri Apr 22, 2011 7:51 pm

I have always been interested in as to why some forum posters use their own name and others use nicknames ect. I always like to know to whom I'm conversing and have never had a problem with indentifying myself to other users.

Interesting topic don't you think ?

Yeah and there was a bush poet who called himself The Banjo and one who called himself The Breaker and one who called himself The Colonel

I know what you mean Bob, I prefer real names too.

I find it funny when a movie star changes their name. Because it does not seem to fit the bill. Sorry William !

Marty are you sure the good and the bad thing did not have anything to do with it ?

Hi Bob,
There are more people use their own names now than used to be the case.
I suspect it was just phase we passed through, I also think it's a bit of a self conscious thing when some people first join the forum.
There could also be the odd person (possibly even well know ones) who prefer to remain incognito.
There has even been the odd time when I suspect I have inadvertently put my foot in my mouth (without realizing it at the time) when I momentarily wished I'd done the same.

Cheers

Terry
