The Worlds Best Bad Luck

Post by Hully » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:58 am

This is the 'Davids' family story from On The Road.....my favorite I think....This bloke had such a great and infectious attitude to life

The Worlds Best Bad Luck

The trailer was tarped and loaded with one back seat removed
The maps all scanned and marked and the travel plan approved
Just the sort of things you do on a family holiday
not looking for adventure, but it can find you anyway.
It can sneak up on your happiness and grab you from behind
It can test your better nature and make you change your mind
But a journey is made to follow through, once the path is struck
Even if you are confronted with the Worlds Best Bad Luck

The best bad luck in the world depends entirely on how it is viewed
And regardless of the outcome it relies on attitude
The best laid plans of mice and men will often go astray
And the gift in every wrong turn is the courage you display
One can’t expect that every day of life will be sublime
And things are always going to go wrong from time to time
You must find a way around or through – just don’t admit you’re stuck
And you’ll see that you’re rewarded with the Worlds Best Bad Luck

The hand that you get dealt is the one you must embrace
Whether it has worked out perfectly or slapped you in the face
You won’t get the feel of life when you’re wrapped in cotton wool
And when a glass seems half empty its also still half full
Expect the unexpected and be well prepared for change
And perfect preparations may still need to rearrange
And if the world throws you lemons, you take a bite and suck
And call it lemonade - with the Worlds Best Bad Luck
