TREES
Cocooned in verdant green, I drive
on morning streets of Albury city.
The canopies above me thrive
with leafy hues of autumn pretty.
Sunlight filters down from high,
spots speckled play, and fleck the road.
It is a wondrous world I spy,
so much beauty here bestowed.
When time should come for me to rest
in peaceful everlasting slumber,
lay me 'neath a tree, whose crest
will shade me as I lie there under.

That's a good one to play around with some innovative metaphors and similes.
