It’s Only a Fish

Post by alongtimegone » Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:56 pm

It’s only a fish!
Don’t get so excited.
Yes, maybe a beauty
the biggest you’ve caught,

but it’s only a fish
so stop yelling and screaming.
You said it’s relaxing;
a leisurely sport.

It’s only a fish!
So please watch your language.
I don’t want to hear
‘Lost the bastard’ again.

Cause it’s only a fish!
I tried hard to net it.
You told me yourself
they get off now and then.

And it’s only a fish!
There’ll be more where that came from.
Settle down
I’ll pour you a nice cup of tea.

It was only a fish!
Now where is the thermos?
I really don’t know what
You’d do without me.

‘Cause it’s only a fish!
It’s upsetting to lose it,
but darling believe me
I really do wish

that you’d try to stay calm
the next time you hook one.
Just try to remember
it’s only a fish!

I can understand that. Because of that's what I say to the missus, it's only a B****dy fish

Yes she is Neville but I didn't read the poem to her. She's not that understanding.

G/day Wazza,
Just got back from three weeks at a favorite fishing spot, the place was alive with Salmon and Herring plus a few other species.

Liked your poem mate.
